Bridges to Our Roots
Join Puentes de Salud on Indigenous Peoples’ Day for a rooftop celebration of the Indigenous and Latino heritage at the heart of the communities we serve.
Set against the Philadelphia skyline, the evening brings together the food, music, and traditions that define our neighborhoods…, and directly supports Puentes de Salud’s health, education, and wellness programs for Philadelphia’s Latino immigrant community.
A Taste of Latin America
Seven of Philadelphia’s most celebrated Latino restaurants are donating a signature dish each:
• Casa México /South Philly Barbacoa — led by James Beard Award winner Cristina Martínez
• El Chingón — recognized with a Bib Gourmand in Philadelphia’s first MICHELIN Guide
• Tequilas — a Philadelphia institution since 1986
• El Merkury — Central American flavors from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador
• Café Tinto — Colombian
• Mucho Perú — Peruvian
• Amy’s Pastelitos — Puertorican
The Program
The evening features traditional dance from México, Colombia, and Cuba, including performances by Grupo Ñuuxakun, Colombia Mi Corazón Es Tuyo, and Treinta y Tres Delaware; salsa + bachata lessons by Mike Andino from Estilo Dance Studio; live DJ; an original artistic installation by muralist César Viveros; and cocktails with panoramic views of the city.
