Puentes understands that health is deeply tied to mental well-being, education, and cultural identity. The Wellness Program provides culturally responsive care, addressing trauma, food insecurity and building/supporting emotional resilience within the Latine community. Youth development programs empower children and adolescents through academic support and leadership training, while initiatives like “Proyecto Grandote” foster creative expression and cultural preservation, reinforcing the vital role of art in healing and community-building.
At Puentes, equity is an active, evolving commitment to the community. Through medical-legal partnerships, food security initiatives, mental health services and delivery of health care, Puentes meets individuals where they are, recognizing the complex social determinants that shape health outcomes. The Promotora Program, a cornerstone of community engagement, equips trusted individuals to serve as health educators and advocates, ensuring health and wellness efforts are led by the community, for the community.
