Proyecto Grandote is a community-driven celebration of cultural literacy, storytelling, and intergenerational learning. Since 2019, this initiative has amplified the multilingual and multicultural knowledge within Philadelphia’s Latine immigrant community, recognizing that literacy is more than reading and writing. It’s about honoring the traditions, languages, and artistic practices that shape how families understand the world.

Funded by the William Penn Foundation as part of the Literacy Rich Neighborhoods Initiative, Proyecto Grandote includes:

Markers Across the City – A network of murals, physical artworks, and QR-coded video plaques placed throughout Philadelphia, highlighting cultural spaces and immigrant advocacy organizations. These include:
